# Definitions, Primitives and Prerequisites

The *Gini token* serves as the fundamental fuel powering the Kalp Decentralized Public Infrastructure (DPI). It is designed to support the DPI’s ecosystem through its versatile utility and governance capabilities. With a fixed total supply and seamless integration into the ecosystem’s operations, the Gini token enables efficient and secure transactions while aligning the incentives of all participants.

### *Tokenomics of Gini*

The Gini token operates with precision to maintain economic stability and usability within the Kalp DPI. Each Gini token is divisible into smaller units called ***mGini***, where:

This fine granularity ensures that the token can support microtransactions and a wide range of economic activities. The total supply of Gini tokens is capped at:
